槟岭中华公学“爱校筹款晚宴”
槟岭中华公学校董会于11月11日6时30分在古晋中华小学第三校校友楼举办“爱校筹款晚宴”，以筹募学校活动经费，作为提升该校的软硬体设施，修缮校舍的经费。 所筹募之部分款项将用于搭建一座行人桥以缓解学生抵校上课以及放学时段，尤其是雨天的交通混乱状况，同时也保障学生的安全。 砂人联党主席拿督沈桂贤上议员于当晚莅临担任主宾，而晚宴嘉宾包括古晋中中校董会主席黄良杰及古晋中华小学校董会主席王长福。 沈桂贤在致词时表示，强调砂州争取教育自主权的重要性。 他也说，人联党希望看到本地拥有中国大学分校的设立，让本地的华教体系更加完整，从小学至中学，再到大学的教育都可在本地完成。
关注石角区民生问题
砂拉越人民联合党主席拿督沈桂贤接获石角多个港门民众向人联党反映和提出的民生课题，亲自走入基层实地了解情况。 他日前在人联党石角支部主席陈如飞、秘书林亚德及巴达旺市议会主席罗克强及当地民众带领下，巡视石角区多个港门，并强调人联党非常关注民众提出和反映的课题，而且须尽快解决。 沈桂贤表示，民众提出的民生课题主要是道路两旁丛林常年缺乏修剪，这已影响路基和民众安全使用，此外一些地区的沟渠也出现柱塞。 “民众将这些问题向人联党石角支部反映，支部除了记录在案，也收集资料及向我和总部汇报各种情况，我们会在最快时间内协助解决。” 他表示，民众提出这些问题都是基本和合理要求，雨季即将来临，需要确保上述问题不会在雨季期间，为当地居民带来困扰。 “人联党石角支部领袖经常都有把问题带上会议，我们感谢民众向人联党石角支部提出和反映问题，支部领袖目前正遵循管道向相关部门提出。” 沈桂贤呼吁人民若有任何问题都可提出，人联党会按部就班处理及解决。
味源古庙重建
座落在石角味源港的味源古庙因雨季受水患困扰，味源港慈云善信会决定为该古庙重建新庙宇，并于日前由砂人联党主席拿督沈桂贤上议员主持动土礼。 该古已有150年历史，由于石角大桥的建成通车，带动石角区的基本设施发展，尤其是味源港地处石角区的发展中心，工商业及房屋更是迅速的发展。 由于发展区地势比古庙也高出许多，导致每逢雨季古庙就会淹水。因此，味源港慈云善信会决定发起重建新庙宇，改善庙宇基本设施，让众善信拥有更好的庙宇膜拜。 工程包括重新填高庙地、建立新庙宇、天神庙、聚宝炉、舞台、门楼以及庙前广场，经费大约需70万零吉。

President of SUPP, Senator Datuk Dr Sim Kui Hian, was seen welcoming new members, predominantly youths, joining the party recently. He said youth is the key to the success of the party transformation which has started a couple of years ago. SUPP 2015, he said is no longer a “rich man” party but we have the heart for the people, a pair of hands to help the people, just like SUPP of 60’s & 70’s which achieve so much for the people.

巡视新渔村小贩中心
砂人联党党主席拿督沈桂贤上议员、古晋警区主任罗斯兰及砂人联青宣教秘书兼朋岭支部青年团秘书符祥威律师于日前前往新渔村小贩中心巡视及张贴警方热线电话贴纸。 由于接到当的鱼贩们的投诉，指贼徒在夜里偷走他们存放在储藏箱内的鱼只，而且被偷去的鱼只数量很多。因此，众人在活动上与当地小贩交流，教授防范罪案知识。 罗斯兰指出，由于鱼贩们在面对失窃鱼只后都没有向警方报案，因此，他希望鱼贩们在发现鱼只被偷窃的时候，必须向警方报案。 “另外，警方也查悉，鱼贩们用来装置鱼只的大型储藏箱柜亦被偷窃，警方相信贼徒亦对鱼贩业熟悉，而且偷的都是上等鱼，普通鱼只贼徒都不偷！ 他希望市民与警方保持密切合作，携手打击罪犯。
