As one of the proponents of tonight gathering, I have been given the honour to welcome members of BN component parties to tonight’s gathering. May I, therefore, on behalf of the organizers, welcome you all to tonight’s dinner, which has been termed as Merger of the Minds and Hearts. The gathering of Merger of Minds was coined at a Gawai Function held at my house at June 2014. It was done with a sole purpose of assisting SUPP and SPDP who was under threat from UPP and TERAS, the breakaway political organizations of SUPP and SPDP. And they are still under threat from the same breakaway groups.

Tonight’s dinner, ladies and gentlemen, is for the same purpose, aiming at the same target groups, but with a bigger coalition: this time PBB is with us. The dinner materializes because of cooperation of the four component parties in Sarawak namely: PBB, PRS, SUPP and SPDP. The dinner though informal, symbolizes the paramount principles of Barisan Nasional: YOU TOUCH ONE, YOU TOUCH ALL! The Merger of Minds and Hearts is governed by BN rules which in turn becomes the guiding principles in its code of conduct both for top party management as well as the grassroot level of BN organization.

Ladies and gentlemen, we are here tonight because we represent parties in Barisan Nasional (BN). As members of BN it is our solemn duty that BN must be protected and defended by all of us from those who encroach to our territories or from those who want to claim our seats which were allocated to us by BN. Therefore, all of the four BN parties in Sarawak – PBB, PRS, SUPP and SPDP who are here tonight have only one thing in mind – to fight for BN comes GE 2016 and to support the leadership of Datuk Patinggi Adenan Satem, the Chairman of Sarawak BN.

Ladies and gentlemen, I am confident that BN will continue to govern Sarawak after GE 2016. Sarawak BN has no dangerous enemy from outside who can topple us. Our real enemy is our self. Our real enemy is within us. If we can solve and settle our own problem in BN; if can cast aside our fear of one another, if we can put the interest of the Rakyat above our self, the threat by the opposition will not be the factor in preventing BN in administrating this country after 2016 general election.

The problem which BN is now facing was in front of me in 2008. We in PRS had identical political problem at that time. My party solved it. If it could be done then; there is no reason why it cannot be done now. If we put our minds together and our sincerity to do what is best for the people of Sarawak, we can solve this political impasse and move forward as 1 Sarawak.

With the above words and political observations, I wish to thank the organizers for making it possible for us to gather here tonight. May this be the beginning of what is to come. Allow me to end with this quotation from Henry Ford:
