MPP refutes claim of reduced waste collection frequency at Batu Kawa Old Bazaar
Padawan Municipal Council (MPP) Chairman Tan Kai has refuted allegations made by Stampin MP Chong Chieng Jen that waste collection frequency at Batu Kawa Old Bazaar had been reduced.
Tan said MPP immediately held an ad hoc discussion with Trienekens (Sarawak) Sdn Bhd following the allegation to verify the matter. Based on inspections on the ground and reports submitted by the service provider, waste collection at the area remains unchanged at twice a week, every Wednesday and Saturday.
“The statement appears to be based on hearsay and is not supported by facts. Such inaccurate claims are misleading to the public. The Member of Parliament should verify the facts before issuing statements that may tarnish the image and reputation of MPP,” he said.
According to records maintained by MPP and the service provider, there was an increase in waste volume during the recent Gawai festive season.
However, all waste was collected on the same day and the collection schedule remained unchanged.
Tan Kai also urged members of the public to report any waste collection or refuse bin related issues directly to the council through Resident Councillors or MPP’s official communication channels.
He added that complaints could also be lodged with Trienekens (Sarawak) Sdn Bhd through its Customer Care Hotline at 082-612300 or via email at customercare@trienekens.com.my.
In addition, the Trienekens Customer Care App is available on the App Store and Google Play, allowing the public to report and monitor waste collection related issues more conveniently.
