Drainage upgrading works at Taman Happy Valley

Kota Sentosa Assemblyman Wilfred Yap Yau Sin conducted a site inspection at the ongoing drainage upgrading project costing RM2.53 million in Taman Happy Valley to monitor the progress of works and ensure that the project is proceeding according to schedule.

Yap said he was pleased to note that the construction works are progressing as planned and that the project remains on track for completion within the stipulated timeframe. He stressed that continuous monitoring is essential to ensure that public projects are implemented efficiently and deliver the intended benefits to residents.

“The people of Taman Happy Valley have endured flash flood problems for many years. This project did not happen overnight. It is the result of persistent engagement, numerous site visits, continuous follow-ups with the relevant authorities, and a systematic effort to secure the necessary funding and approvals,” said Yap.

He added that while securing project allocations is important, ensuring proper implementation on the ground is equally crucial. As such, he will continue to personally monitor the progress of the works and maintain close communication with the implementing agencies to ensure that the project is completed according to specifications and within schedule.

Yap emphasised that his approach to public service has always been action-oriented, practical, and focused on achieving tangible results for the people.

“As the elected representative for Kota Sentosa, my responsibility does not end with raising issues. It begins with identifying problems, engaging stakeholders, securing solutions, monitoring implementation, and following through until the issues are resolved. This is the systematic approach that I have consistently adopted in serving the people of Kota Sentosa.”

He said the drainage upgrading project at Taman Happy Valley is a clear example of how longstanding community issues can be resolved through close cooperation between residents, government agencies, and elected representatives who are committed to seeing projects through from planning to completion.
