Dr Sim on Budget presented in Dewan
Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP) Senator Datuk Dr. Sim Kui Hian said Sarawak budget is the biggest in Malaysia and despite the effect of price collapsing of oil and gas, the state is still able to increase in its development budget.
He said increasing 75% of the total budge for development is yet another surplus budget as there is a need to spend more, especially the issue facing the young to get affordable housing.
Dr. Sim said Sarawak needs to build more and fast. He also hoped to see more funding for human resources development so that the people can move to the next level of higher income rather than just depending on subsidies only.
He said he could not agree more with the Chief Minister, Datuk Patinggi Adenan Satem, that Sarawak did not get enough from the Federal budget 2016 as they need to catch up with development of schools, hospitals, roads to be on par with Federal instead of waiting for another 50 years.
