Dr Sim: Sarawak to chart its own development according to local sentiment
The Federal government should be committed to empower Sarawak based on the provision in the Federal constitution and laws of the country, said SUPP President, Senator Datuk Dr. Sim Kui Hian.
Dr Sim in a press conference, said it is important for Sarawak to chart its own development according to the sentiments of the locals, which he has raised during the recent Dewan Negara sittings.
Minister in the PM department, Datuk Seri Azalina Dato’ Othman had a written reply see to him which stated that the empowerment would focus on the operational function and administration without involving the legal implications which requires amendments to the Federal constitution or the nation’s law.
She has said a joint committee will review the administrative empowerment for Sarawak and Sabah.
