SPCB Press Release
SUPP Public Complaints Bureau (SPCB) was recently approached by a group of business operators of 4 ½ Mile, Penrissen Road who complained on a blocked outlet drain caused by the construction of new shop houses which has cut-off the existing drainage which passes through the new shop houses and further aggravated by overgrown weeds and accumulated rubbish at two main drain outlets in front of Boulevard Shopping Mall.
The business operators had complained that the blocked existing drains, over grown weeds and accumulated rubbish in the main outlet was seriously affecting water flow and thereby is causing flash flooding even with a moderate heavy rainfall.
SUPP Public Complaints Bureau have now highlighted the issue and notified Majlis Perbandaran Padawan (MPP) and Drainage & Irrigation Department (DID) of the matter. SPCB also requested the assistance of MPP and DID to solve the problems faced by the business operators on an urgent basis due to the fast approaching rainy season.
