第18届马运会于古晋、诗巫和美里3个城市举行。 砂人联党领袖包括党主席拿督沈桂贤和秘书长拿督陈超耀，皆受邀为古晋与美里的赛事主持颁奖礼。 也是卑尔骚区州议员的陈超耀于日前为空手道赛事主持颁奖。 而身兼砂地方政府部长的沈桂贤于昨日为古晋砂团结体育馆举行的跆拳道主持颁奖。
圣玛莉教会筹款晚宴
砂地方政府部部长拿督沈桂贤于22日晚上出席圣玛莉教会的筹款晚宴。 该晚宴目的是为圣玛莉筹募兴建新教堂的经费。 沈桂贤表示，他希望地方上的教会可以扮演促进社区和谐的角色，包括推动居民和谐与教育的发展。 他说，在副首长拿督阿玛道格拉斯领导下的非穆斯林委员会，会保障砂拉越的各族与宗教和谐，维护彼此包容与尊重的精神。
722砂拉越日庆典
砂首席部长拿督巴丁宜丹斯里阿迪南沙登呼吁各界，包括在野党、非政府组织及所有砂拉越人民，一起成为砂政府的强力后盾，以向联邦政府争取权力下放，回属于砂拉越的权利。 他说，目前砂政府已经与联邦政府进行协商之中，以恢复1963年马来西亚契约中，赋予砂拉越的权利。 他强调，在1963年马来西亚契约中，砂拉越与马来亚、沙巴与新加坡是平等伙伴，一起签署该项协议。 “这项马来西亚契约不能修改，因为它是国际性协议，因此凡任何涉及这项契约的修改都是无效的。” 阿迪南沙登是于今日在古晋河滨公园举行的722砂拉越日庆典上致词时，这么表示。庆典主宾为州元首敦丕显斯里泰益玛目。 砂人联党主席兼地方政府部部长拿督沈桂贤也出席这项庆典。

砂地方政府部长拿督沈桂贤于21日巡视美里诊所。 陪同者包括人联党卑尔骚区州议员拿督陈超耀律师和埔奕支部主席俞小珊。 沈桂贤表示，虽然卫生事务是由联邦政府管辖，但砂政府及议员还是有责任去监督诊所的运作。 他认为，目前的美里诊所过于狭小，需要更好设施。 他指出，政府共拨出3500万令吉改善美里医药设施。

Dato Sebastian: importance of sports
State Assemblyman for Piasau, Dato’ Sebastian Ting o fficiated the opening of SMK Lutong- 50th Sports Day. In his speech, he said sportsmanship provides guidelines that can be generalized into the classroom and towards a lifelong achievement. He said participating in challenging sporting events teaches children to love classroom challenge. It also teaches children to function in a competitive society. Education , he added, is a life time accomplishment but creative contributions in the arts, sciences, business, and government involve similar perseverance and self-discipline.
Helping those who are unfortunate
State Assemblyman for Piasau, Dato Sebastian Ting visited the family from Damai Jaya after he heard that their house had burned down recently . The husband is an OKU and the family have four children. The fire was believed to have started due to a faulty generator. Following the visit, Ting aside from showing his concern, called on the Welfare department to assist the family.
Dr Sim Raya visit to Minister of Defense
Senator Datuk Dr. Sim Kui Hian who is Local Government minister, and his wife, Enn Ong paid a visit to the Minister of Defence, Dato’ Seri Hishamudin Hussein on Wednesday for his Hari Raya celebration at the Dewan Seroja, Ministry of Defense. 巴达旺市议会主席罗克强强调，砂拉越必须争取回应有的自主权，不应由布城来决定砂州人民的公民权益。 他指出，已多次接获有关“无国籍”身份这者的投诉，他们都是土生土长的砂拉越人，但却基于某些理由而无法办理及获得大马公民权。 也是巴都吉当州议员的罗克强在在一项新闻发布会披露，日前接到一宗个案，一名9岁的孩子，父亲郑盛联是砂拉越人，妈妈是寮国籍。由于父母在办理结婚证书手续出现一些问题，迄今都未办妥。这导致这名9岁的孩子出生时，无法获得马来西亚公民的地位。 更糟的是，这名孩子在上星期四突然被校方谕令停学，无法重返学校继续上课。 罗克强形容这是很荒谬的。此外校方更指示家属将300令吉的津贴还回给学校。 他形容校方突然作出停学的做法，对小孩有欠公平，毕竟这名孩子也是在砂拉越出生。 他也透露，这对夫妇在过去8年，向有关当局申请了4次，以让孩子可以获得公民权，但还是无法如愿。 他表示，这名孩子拥有在砂中央医院的证明。 罗克强气愤的表示，他之前亲自前往有关当局询问，但官员依然不批准；当问官员给他一个理由时，官员给他的答覆却是“没有理由”。无论如何，罗克强将向教育局陈情，希望能网开一面，至少让孩子能继续的求学。 罗克强所处理的另一宗个案则是，父亲是砂拉越人，母亲是印尼籍，10岁儿子获得大马公民，女儿王安琪却沦为“无国籍”。王安琪的家人在过去7年，向当局提出了四次的申请，但都不成功。 罗克强感到忧虑，如果这些问题没有得到妥善解决，肯定会引发种种的社会问题。 在另一宗案件中，35岁的印尼籍少妇下嫁砂拉越华裔男子，已结婚了14年，印尼妻子还是无法成为砂拉越公民。 他指出，该妇女因还没申请到砂拉越公民，而不敢生小孩，担心如果被遣送回国，以后孩子和她要怎么生活？ 他希望，有关当局可以给予一个交代，同时建议有关砂公民权的法律应要重新检讨，因这对那些土生土长的砂拉越小孩有欠公平。

Walkabout at the local fish market
Piasau State Assemblyman, Dato’ Sebastian Ting went with the Woman’s section this morning to hear complains from those operating at the Fish market. Many complaints had been made by the hawkers who hoped that certain facilities could be added to give them and customers a more conducive environment. Following a walkabout and listening to a number of complaints,Ting said he would look into them to see how best he could assist them.

Senator Datuk Dr. Sim Kui Hian went to Batu Kawa old Township to see that the roads there are being resurfaced. Dr. Sim said there are many roads neglected and there is a lot of things to be done. He said now that election are over, this is the time to work and set things right.

砂人联党巴都吉当区州议员罗克强欢庆各界参与每逢周五至周日，从上午7时至傍晚6时的甘榜蓬波（Kampung Bubok）社区小贩市集。 该市集将售卖各种种植蔬菜、野菜、本地水果、传统比达友美食和手工艺品。 罗克强说，这市集将为小贩带来额外收入，并且在更安全与舒适的地点摆卖，可吸引更多民众消费。 他表示，以往一些小贩在路旁摆卖，对于道路使用者构成不便与危险，因为有些民众会把交通停放在路旁。 “而随着社区小贩市集的成立，希望可以改变小贩的思维，在集中式地区摆摊，更卫生及安全。” 他指出，该市集大约有30名小贩参与。
