沈桂贤呼吁选民为砂权益而投
砂人联党主席拿督沈桂贤强调，本届大选更重要的是要为砂拉越权益而投。 他在党总部移交拨款时表示，如果赢得的席位不够多，就难以拥有团结的声音去争取更多权益。因此，如果国会选举中人联党能够胜出，相信选区会更好。 他指出，国油单单在去年就获得450亿令吉的盈利，尽管国际油价走低。砂拉越过去非常仁慈，与全国分享砂拉越的石油资源与财富。然而分享了这么多年，砂拉越并没有同等获得财富，反而在砂拉越的道路、学校、诊所等建设都比西马落后。 他强调，如今，砂拉越要争回更多权益，因为有权利，砂拉越才会更富有。 沈桂贤表示，其本身在去年已经拨出3700张拨款支票予受惠团体，今年截至目前也已经拨出818张支票予各大团体。这些拨款是源自数个来源，即州议员拨款、上议员、及石角州选区拨款。 “拨款是为了给各受惠团体继续营运做出更多对社会有意义的工作。” 他称，石角选区每年拥有2千万令吉拨款，这是政府的拨款制度，包括反对党执政的州属也有属于他们的拨款制度，只是拨款款额不同而已。若他在州选中未胜出，他也不能拨出更多款项让更多团体受惠。
陈超耀协助美里儿童申请公民前
砂人联党卑尔骚区州议员拿督陈超耀协助美里1名儿童申请到公民权。 据悉，该儿童此前申请了8年皆无下文，儿童父亲陈国铭因此向陈超耀求助。在孩子拿到公民权后，陈国铭感激陈超耀和人联党的协助，完成了他多年来的心愿。 现年67岁的陈国铭对于孩子公民权迟迟没有获得批准感到非常担心；他的妻子是印尼国民，儿子陈明仔是在2005年10月诞生，今年在初中一念书。 当局不发出报生纸给陈明仔的原因是，陈明仔是在陈国铭和妻子莉莎办理结婚证书后半年左右才呱呱落地。基于孩子在夫妇俩仅结婚了半年就生下孩子这个不合理的因素，而不批准陈明仔的报生纸，只发出临时报生纸给他。 由于陈明仔的母亲是外国人，因此，作为父亲的陈国铭必须提供他和孩子的脱氧核糖核酸（DNA）检测报告。 陈国铭是在2011年开始办理孩子的公民权申请工作；由于几年下来当局迟迟没有批准，孩子已经进入东姑村的廉律国中就读初中一。他3年前来到人联党卑尔骚支部向陈超耀求助。

砂人联党日前向美里选委会购买3份第14届全国大选提名表格。 前往购买表格者包括卑尔骚区州议员拿督陈超耀律师、史纳汀区州议员拿督李景胜及美里市长俞小珊。目前，该委员会已售出7份的竞选表格，每份提名表格20令吉。 选举期间，美里国会选区将动用多达1000名的警察，协助运送投票箱子、看守投票中心等工作。美里国会选区共有24个投票中心、2个供军警提早投票的投票中心，以及1个邮寄选票中心。 美里24个投票中心，包括圣哥伦巴政中、美里中华中学、圣约瑟小学、彬当小学、马宝路旧回教堂（Madrasah Sabian）、赛依奥曼政小、布劳马来尤政小、美里北校、罗东中华小学、美里中华公学、甘榜鲁哇政小、埔奕湾政小、埔奕中华公学、柏迈苏里政中、珠巴中华公学、培民中学、杜当政小、史纳汀政小、马宝政小、瓜拉巴南政小、瓜拉巴南第二政小、美里宗教小学、鲁玛豆长屋（Rumah Dok），及中山小学。

人联党在各区举办《强大的砂拉越讲座会》，为第14届全国大选造势。 昨晚率先在辉盛小贩中心开演，为配合赶场出席其他节目而率先登场的该党主席拿督沈桂贤强调509选民手中的一票是要投给砂拉越自身的权益，以便增强话语权。 他说，砂拉越国阵与西马国阵不一样，而509也并非投给西马的国阵，因为唯有砂拉越国阵更加强大后，砂拉越的权益才能悉数拿回来，且应有的资源才能真正让砂拉越人民所享用。 “我们砂拉越国阵有给钱学校、神庙，甚至也有华人市长，反观西马并没有，所以这是砂拉越国阵的不同之处，砂拉越选民应该给予支持。” 他也说，砂拉越的资源过去几十年已经与西马共同享用，但相信砂拉越人民更希望看到砂拉越的资源应该大部分给予砂拉越人所享用，因此他说唯有砂拉越人团结一致，才有力量拿回应有权益及该享有的资源。 该晚随后陆续登台发言的郑莉宾、许德婉、陈开及符祥威等人也将炮火击中在攻击希盟总裁前首相敦马哈迪与行动党身上。
巴哥中公即将迁校复办
巴哥中公迁校及重建指日可待，一旦获得教育部发出的迁校准证即可绘蓝图动工，并在2021年正式开课！ 晋汉联省津贴华小蕫联会会长蔡文铎与砂地方政府部部长拿督沈桂贤以及众校董巡视坐落在三马拉汉通往晋连路15哩的本连花园（Taman Belian）新校址。 他说，巴哥中公在2011年因为面对学生不足的问题而被迫关闭，迁校事件也因此拖了多年，所幸在部长沈桂贤的协助下，简化了许多繁文缛节的程序并成功向教育部争取迁校准证，终于可在近期内获得搬迁准证。 新校址的地段有3.47英亩，初步预计需耗资近400万令吉来完成建设工程及硬体设施，包括初步计划的18间课室、办公室、电脑室、生活技能室等。 他指出，巴哥中公新校舍最迟会在2019年动工，而当局也会在获得搬迁准证后成立建校委员会。 他补充，目前有关地区有3千多户住家，因此也会根据地方上的需要来设计学校。 蔡文铎代表蕫联会感谢沈桂贤积极向联邦和砂拉越教育部跟进迁校事件，让迁校计划得以顺利落实。 与此同时，拿督沈桂贤表示，巴哥中公自2011年停办多年，即时说是迁校，不过也已经是新建的学校。 因为停办多年，学校教职人员也都已经被安排到其他学校，所以虽说是迁校，不过在建设好后都将重新安排校长还有拨款。他解释，新校将继续保留巴哥中公的校名，这是为了认可之前在巴哥中公服务及对该校热心付出的老师、华教人士及前辈的贡献。

A new lease of life for stateless boy
A young boy is given a new lease of life, much to the delight of his parents. State Assemblyman for Piasau, Datuk Sebatian Ting handed his citizenship papers to the boy at his Piasau branch this morning. The boy has been stateless and the parents had been doing their best to apply for his citizenship for years. His mother is a foreigner. Ting thanked the KDN for granting citizenship to the boy as without it, he will face life in a limbo without proper education or unable to apply for any legal documents.
叶耀星接获圣淘沙商家投诉民生问题

Reading glasses for senior citizens
A total of 534 pairs of reading glasses were given to senior citizens around the city last weekend by the SUPP team. Batu Lintang SUPP Women chief Councillor Katherine Voon Yian Vie led the programme at the Stutong market and Sungai Maong community centre and gave the glasses as part of the International Woman day program. The programme was aimed to help elderly people read better with proper reading glasses.
Clearing out blocked septic tank
