Dr Sim to contest in Stampin parliamentary seat
Minister of Local Government and Housing Datuk Dr Sim Kui Hian has resigned as a Senator in the Dewan Negara to contest in the Stampin parliamentary seat this upcoming 14th General Election (GE14).
Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg unveiled the Barisan Nasional (BN) Sarawak line-up for GE14 at Parti Persaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) headquarters here today and Sim will stand in Stampin against DAP Chong Chieng Jen. Stampin was won by DAP in the last general election and Julian Tan was the MP Stampin when he stood against Dato Yong Khoon Seng.
Dr Sim said there are now opportunity for young leaders, notably the capable ones who can fight for Sarawakians and Sarawak in parliament. The senatorship is expected to be given to a young leader.
He called to all to give their support and said he will do his level best for all Sarawakians.
At the moment, he called to all members to work hard to win all the SUPP and BN seats in Sarawak.
