World Hearing Day Sarawak
An Ear Nose Throat (ENT) & Health Screening 2018 was held recently in Conjunction with World Hearing Day Sarawak
Sarawak Local Government and Housing Minister, Datuk Dr. Sim Kui Hian who was there to launch the occasion said many of us are blessed and take for granted on our hearing. A few are born deaf (can’t hear, hence can’t speak – mute) but with advancements of technology, there is an opportunity to give these people a gift for life!
The other end of spectrum is we are having an aging population with increased impairment of hearing
He said these groups need a lot of support and is proud of the tremendous volunteering leadership by Sarawak Hear for the Awareness, Rehabilitation program, fund raising, etc.
Dr Sim also added that he is proud of the spirit of the volunteers who are proactive, believing in everyone can do something rather than being arm chair critics and finger pointing.
