Dr Sim: SUPP must move with the time
President of SUPP, Senator Datuk Dr. Sim Kui Hian said SUPP must move with the time to remain relevant and to adapt to changes in order to move forward.
Speaking at the 24th SUPP Annual Delegates Conference held Sunday, Dr. Sim said through all these, only then a transformation can take place. He said thus this was why an annual delegate conference was called yearly instead of triennially.
He said it was only fair to meet the people on the ground from all the branches and to hear them out. With listening, discussion and putting forward the best ideas from the ground, this would unite the party further and moving forward together as one force.
Dr. Sim said to lead an army, one has to compliment it with wisdom and understanding instead of bulldozing through.
He said from what he could see for himself. the party is in much a solid position and the leaders and members are serving the people well as what they should be doing.
For the coming State election, Dr. Sim said it is a very important one not for the party but also for Sarawakians. Thus, it is important that the people vote in the right party to get things done through action and not through condemning and criticizing
He said it was fortunate that the party has a close working relationship with the Chief Minister and other BN component parties.
Through us, we have been successful in many policies such as the Unified Examination certificate, settle squatter resettlement in Miri and Bintulu and many more.
He said all the party leaders and members will continue to give their utmost support to the Chief Minister to continue with his excellent work.
A total of over 800 delegates from 48 branches attended the conference.
