Sebastian Ting Inspects Futsal Court
Deputy Minister of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts (Tourism) Datuk Sebastian Ting today inspected the upgrading works at Kampung Pulau Melayu futsal court, which are now 95 percent completed and expected to be fully ready by the original deadline of October 8.
Ting, who was accompanied by KK, Miri City Council engineers, the contractor, and his private secretary Hii Kah Hung, said the RM150,000 project was funded under the 2024 Rural Transformation Programme (RTP).
“The allocation has enabled us to upgrade the futsal court with new fencing, lighting, goalposts, nets, toilet repairs, and the construction of a rest hut,” he said.
Ting added that only minor finishing works, such as the installation of nets, remain before the project can be officially handed over.
“This is one of the key health and recreational facilities we are implementing in the constituency. Our aim is to improve community infrastructure, promote healthy living, support youth development, and encourage more people to take part in fitness activities. Advocating a healthy lifestyle is very important,” he stressed.
