Wilfred Yap gives a helping hand
SUPP Public Complaints Bureau (PCB) Chief, Wilfred Yap was recently approached by a man surnamed Tan residing at 14thMile, Jalan Kuching-Serian area for his assistance on a dispute over the usage of the adjacent land as a road access which Mr Tan and his family have been using for over 30 years.
Mr Tan had informed SUPP PCB Chief, Wilfred Yap that a company had recently started contruction of a factory and fencing on the land adjacent to his wooden house built on resettlement land over 30 years ago. The problem is that the only access road to Mr Tan’s wooden house is situated on the company’s land and Mr Tan is worried that the only access road to his wooden house where he and his family have been using for over 30 years will be blocked.
SUPP PCB Chief, Wilfred Yap is now trying his best to resolve the road access dispute between the affected parties amicably and have written to the adjacent landowner company for an alternative access road to the main road before the current and only access to Mr Tan’s wooden house can be closed.
During preliminary discussions between SUPP PCB Chief Wilfred Yap and the representative of the company, the company had given their commitment that they will not close Mr Tan’s only access to the main road until an amicable alternative access is decided and agreed upon by the affected parties.
SUPP Public Complaints Bureau views disputes like the above seriously and will try its best to mediate between the parties for a win-win situation for all parties. SUPP PCB Chief, Wilfred Yap will continue to follow up and monitor the situation until an amicable solution and settlement to the satisfaction of all affected parties are agreed upon.
