Lo slams delayed action by Sarawak Water over Mile 10 issue

Batu Kitang State Assemblyman Lo Khere Chiang has strongly criticised Sarawak Water over its handling of a prolonged low water pressure issue affecting a row of 12 shophouses at Mile 10.

Expressing frustration, Lo said the problem had persisted for nearly two years despite numerous complaints from the shop owners.

“Only after we went to Sarawak Water and banged on the table last month did they take action. And the shocking thing is it took them a week to fix it,” he said.

The issue was eventually resolved after the agency installed a larger six inch diameter pipe connected to an existing line.

Lo said he could not understand why the matter had been left unresolved for so long and thanked the affected shopkeepers for their patience.

He urged Sarawak Water and other public utility agencies to respond more promptly to public complaints and not delay action unnecessarily.
