Batu Kitang rep strengthens community safety through neighbourhood watch engagement
Batu Kitang Assemblyman Dato Ir Lo Khere Chiang recently spent time engaging with members of the Neighbourhood Watch group, listening to their feedback and discussing ways to further strengthen community safety and cooperation.
Lo said the WhatsApp Batu Kitang group he set up last year is now showing positive results for residents in the area, particularly in addressing crime.
He noted that reported incidents include housebreaking, theft, the dropping of drugs in residential areas, and the presence of suspicious individuals. With police officers also part of the group, prompt action can be taken based on complaints shared within the platform.
Lo said the interaction highlights the importance of close collaboration at the grassroots level to ensure a safe, caring, and well connected neighbourhood.
He also urged all volunteers to remain committed in looking after the community.
Currently, the group has more than 100 members, including police personnel.
