Padawan municipal council launches lucky draw to encourage rate payments

The Padawan Municipal Council (MPP) is organising a “Pay Assessment Rates and Stand a Chance to Win” lucky draw campaign, offering prizes worth RM20,000 to ratepayers who settle their 2026 assessment rates in full.

MPP Chairman Tan Kai said the campaign is open to all rateable holdings within MPP’s jurisdiction registered under individual ownership in the MPP Rating and Billing System, subject to the stipulated terms and conditions.

He explained that eligible participants must fully settle both the first and second half of their 2026 assessment rates and clear any outstanding payments on or before May 31, 2026.

“The Council will utilise a digital lucky draw system for the selection of winners. A list of eligible ratepayers will be generated by the system in accordance with the campaign’s terms and conditions,” he said.

According to him, the lucky draw session is scheduled to be held at the end of June 2026, during which six winners will be selected.

Tan expressed hope that the initiative would encourage ratepayers to settle their assessment rates promptly while raising public awareness on the importance of timely tax compliance.

He urged all ratepayers to take advantage of the campaign by making full payment before the closing date to qualify for the lucky draw.

“Prompt payment not only gives ratepayers a chance to win attractive prizes, but also supports the Council’s ongoing efforts in delivering essential municipal services and community development programmes for the benefit of all,” he added.
