Datuk Sebastian Ting marks Bomba Malaysia golden jubilee with tribute to five decades of service
Deputy Minister of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts, Datuk Sebastian Ting paid tribute to Bomba Malaysia as the department celebrated its 50th anniversary, describing the milestone as a remarkable achievement in a field filled with daily challenges and risks.
He said that for five decades, the fire and rescue department has remained at the forefront during times of disaster, including fires, landslips, maritime emergencies and other crises, consistently demonstrating readiness and commitment to protect lives and property.
Ting noted that the golden jubilee is not only a reflection of past accomplishments, but also a reminder that the journey continues, with more years of dedication and excellence ahead.
He extended his heartfelt congratulations to Bomba Malaysia on its 50th anniversary, expressing hope that the next 50 years will be even more distinguished.
Earlier in the day, a total of 2,314 participants took part in the Larian Jubli Emas Bomba held in conjunction with the anniversary celebration.
Ting also commended Bomba Miri for successfully organising the annual event, which he said was made even more meaningful with this year’s golden jubilee celebration.
He further expressed appreciation to all participants, including residents of Miri and visitors from Brunei, for their enthusiastic support.
He added that the favourable weather contributed to the smooth running of the event and expressed hope for continued good conditions, good health and more positive moments for the community in the days ahead.
