Road maintenance by Pedawan Municipal Council
Padawan Municipal Council Chairman, Lo Khere Chiang, is seen here showing a completed road, which is part of the improvement projects done by the Council recently. The half kilometer road costing a total of RM100,000 at Jalan Ha Sa Lung leads to a village and a temple. Lo said the Council will continue to upgrade and maintain the roads in the Batu Kawa area for the convenience and daily use of the public.

President of Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP) Senator Datuk Dr. Sim Kui Hian enjoyed the close rapport with the Sibu Central Market Hawker Association in Sibu yesterday by having the moon cake festival together. Dr. Sim said the Sibu central market is not only a historical landmark but an important economic centre for Sibu. Hawkers, said Dr. Sim, worked hard and started their days early to earn a living. The celebration was held in a local restaurant.

During his walkabout, Dr Sim found out that seeing is believing as many houses in the Bukit Assek area (walking distance to Sibu City central) is collapsing and in danger to those who continue to live there. This poses serious health and security risks to the whole neighbourhood as well. The area needs a master plan and something must be done.

州元首地位超越政治
砂拉越人民联合党就尊贵的砂州元首敦丕显泰益玛目陛下日前出席砂联民党的周年庆会感到惊讶。主办当局有必要加倍谨慎和关注，邀请一州至高权位的非政治统治者必须遵循过去既定的官方礼仪。 砂人民联合党中央主席拿督沈桂贤上议员发文告指出，如果一州最高统治者只是受邀推展完全有利于教育领域发展的教育基金，砂人联党由衷给予全力支持和鼓掌。 但是，他很遗憾主办当局没有遵循既定的公约和协定的官方礼仪邀请砂州元首出席带有浓厚政治意味的活动。 无论如何，作为一州最高统治者的地位绝对超越政治，尤其超越任何政党。 拿督沈桂贤续说，人联党非常赞同州元首陛下敦丕显泰益玛目在2014年受邀出席由美里马来人慈善信托局晚宴上，州元首陛下曾发表的一番谈话指出:“尽管我已经从活跃政坛退下，但是，协助人民提供他们福利的非政治立场慈善活动，我从不言退….” 沈桂贤希望，任何主办单位未来要举办活动或庆会必须谨记，邀请一州最高统治者，一定要依据既定的公约和礼仪为上。 砂人民联合党全力支持所有由任何机构举办福利和慈善活动的努力，以提升和改善砂拉越人的生活。
TYT attendance at UPP function
Sarawak United Peoples’ Party President (SUPP), Senator Datuk Dr. Sim Kui Hian, expressed surprise to see the Head of State attending a political function. In a brief statement issued today, Dr Sim added that the function was organised by UPP, which is also the launching of the education fund, of which SUPP have no quarrel over it, but actually applaud it. Dr. Sim added that the function was also the launching of UPP’s 1st Anniversary. He said the organisers should know better that the TYT’s position is non-political.

已故人联党巴南区国会议员达玛（Tama Wing Tingang Wan）的妻子巴鲁（Balu Bungan Jau），于上周日晚上7时02分不幸逝世，享年94岁。 她是于女儿位于盐柴港的住家逝世。 砂人联党秘书长拿督陈超耀律师与宣教秘书俞小珊与昨日到丧府，瞻仰巴鲁遗容，并为家属献上慰问。
Passing on of Balu Bungan Jau
Wife of the first MP of Baram, Balu Bungan Jau passed away peacefully Sunday night in her daughter’s home in Sg. Maong. Balu, 94 was the wife of MP Tama Wing Tingang Wan (deceased), a member of SUPP. Secretary General of SUPP, Dato’ Sebastian Ting and Publicity Chief, Adam Yii went to pay their last respect yesterday. Theresa Tingang said her mother would be laid to rest this Friday at the Catholic Cemetery at Mile 13 after a prayer at St. Joseph Cathedral.
诗巫店屋党产归还给人联党
诗巫高庭谕令Twinswood有限公司股东持有的的股权和地契，即以前属于诗巫人联党在诗巫甘榜拿督三间店屋的党产，必须归还给诉方即砂拉越人民联合党。 此案的诉方有3人，即人联党中央主席拿督沈桂贤、人联党秘书长拿督陈超耀及人联党财政陈冠勳 ，他们3人也代表人联党党员。答辩人为TWINSWOOD SDN BHD。 据了解，基于辩方没有进行任何的抗辩，也没有委派律师，同时法庭所提供给辩方答覆诉状书的时间，昨日是最后一天的期限。因此，在没有任何方法下，法庭只能单方面的进行以上的判决。 基于此案是内庭审讯，因此，除了诉方的代表律师外，并没有看到任何的诗巫人联党人士在法庭现身。 另一方面，诉方是于今年6月4日，以电子注册方式将案件入禀法庭，并要求辩方在两个星期内，针对该诉状书中的诉求作出答覆。 诉方在诉状书主要是要求Twinswood有限公司股东归还他们的股权，即该党位于诗巫甘榜拿督三间店屋的党产，将位于甘榜拿督人联党的土地和建筑屋转至人联党的名下。同时，诉方在诉状书中的诉求，也包括辩方须负责所有有关费用。
沈桂贤与日本留学生交流
砂拉越人民联合党主席拿督沈桂贤上议员于日前与一批日本留学生交流。 学生们来到古晋的目的是参与社会志愿计划，他们在逗留古晋期间，到访古晋与石隆门的民宿，体验当地生活。 负责接待这批学生访问古晋的单位是马来西亚红新月会实旦宾分会。
詹玛欣：人民党力挺人联党
砂人民党主席丹斯里詹玛欣强调，该党将会继续力挺砂人联党，因为这是作为国阵成员党所应该具有的责任，即在其他成员党处于“水深火热”时，伸出援手相挺。 他不点名指出，在过去的历史，也曾经有国阵某个成员党面对严重危机，而砂人联党当时义不容辞提供援助。 他说，他过去提出砂州国阵4个成员党必须要有“思想统一”的概念，其意义就是要成员党之间互相帮忙。 “要维持稳固与强大的政治联盟，成员之间彼此必须要有互惠与互相尊重的精神。” 他表示，砂人联党副主席兼成邦江区州议员拿督法兰西斯哈登昨日出席人民党斯里阿曼的活动，展现对于人民党的友好与支持，因此人民党并不能在人联党需要友党力挺的时候，不顾而去。 “在最需要的时候提供帮助的朋友，才是真心的朋友。” 他强调，砂人民党的强大在于党员衷心对党，并对于政府官职的安排保持耐心。 他举例，砂人民党斯里阿曼区国会议员玛西古扎在近期受委内政部副部长之前，一直都保持耐心及对于党的忠心。若后者没如此，对于党感到生气，甚至退党，那么他只能带着怨气离开。 “人民党只是‘穷人’的政党，不像其他有大老板撑腰的政党，我们的力量来自基层人民的支持。若选民是寄望人民党在大选来临时给他们金钱上的好处，那么我们会提早‘收拾包袱’回家，因为我们不想浪费我们及选民的时间。” “不过，如果选民是真诚想给予我们支持，那么我们会竭尽所能确保他们，尤其是达雅族能够参与砂州的发展。”
沈桂贤：人联党曾经力挺土保党度过危机
砂拉越人民联合党主席拿督沈桂贤上议员以砂州明阁事件为例，强调国阵成员党之间相挺的重要性。 他指出，1987年砂州政坛爆发明阁事件，砂土保党内部出现分裂时，人联党挺身而出，力挺土保党度过危机，并立下日后强大的基础。 “不幸的是，在政治上总会有起落，政党内部爆发纷争与分裂，并不是第一次发生，而且在未来也会发生同样的问题。” 他说，如今砂人联党面对问题，尤其是内部分裂，欣慰的是，首席部长兼州国阵主席拿督巴丁宜丹斯里阿迪南沙登与砂人民党主席丹斯里詹玛欣都声援人联党，并给予行动上的支持。 沈桂贤在其文告上表示，在很早以前，他就强调人联党不再是“老板政党”。虽然在政治上经验不多，还是属于新人，但他始终都秉持并实践政治原则，尤其是他深信，国阵长期以来维持强大，就是基于守望相助的原则，即一个成员党发生问题，其他成员党会力挺与相助。 “时代已经改变，但这也意味着，国阵更需要注重团结与互相支持的精神，朝向共同的目标。” 他强调，团结是维持强大的基础，若分裂，就会失去强大的力量。
