金珠盛中华公学新教学楼开幕礼
砂人联党主席拿督沈桂贤上议员表示,他将向联邦教育部力争让砂州华小获得更多拨款,作为改善设施及扩建经费。 他认为,教育部拨给全国华小的5000万令吉拨款,不应该以学生人数为拨款分配的标准,而是以学校的设施发展需求,比如设备较为落后及需要改进的学校,应该获得更多拨款。 他说,与西马相比,砂州华小的设施比较落后,应该获得更多的关注。 他透露,他已经向教育局争取帮助巴哥中华公学迁校至15哩,因为当地处于发展之中,未来人口将会增长。 沈桂贤是于昨日代表教育部副部长张盛闻为金珠盛中华公学新教学楼主持开幕与启用礼时,发表个人的致词。 他强调,首席部长拿督巴丁宜丹斯里阿迪南沙登多次放话要争取教育事务自主权,这对于砂州来说非常重要,因为这有助于让教育政策更为稳定,以及州政府可以拟订更为有效的教育方针。 “阿迪南指,每当教育部部长换人,教育政策也随之更改,这种做法令学生无所适从。” 他表示,注重英文也是非常重要的教育政策,因为当今世界最重要的3大语言,英文排在第一,紧接着是华文与西班牙文。若砂州人要走出世界闯荡,就必须掌握英文。 对于金珠盛中华公学新教学楼启用,他赞扬该校过去以来栽培无数教育人才,证明了先贤开办学校的眼光。 他说,很幸运的是,砂州的华小也获得土著学生报读,让学生来源更广,而且也有助于促进各族学生的交流,确保和谐精神继续维持下去。
SJK Tapah 75th anniversary dinner
SJK Tapah held its 75th anniversary and fund raising dinner at the Tapah community hall on 26th September, joined by SUPP President, Senator Datuk Dr. Sim Kui Hian. About 2,000 former students returned to Kuching from Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Miri, Sibu, to join in the fund raising project for new classroom block. Headmaster Phang also celebrated his 81st birthday. He has dedicated 25 years to the school which had resulted in 4,000 students who contributed a lot to Malaysia.
