沈桂賢警告失責承包商
負責執行石角路第三項溝渠道承包商接獲警告，若不能在本周施工，政府將即刻終於其工程合約。 砂地方政府與房屋部長拿督沈桂賢指出，政府已經給該承包商多次機會，但對方還是無法達致政府要求。 這項發展計劃屬於水利灌溉局，以便將現有的泥溝提升至鋼骨水泥。工程是在2017年10月獲準施工，按照計劃是今年3月要完成。但承包商無法履行任務，該局在今年4月向對方發出不合格證書通知，同時也在6月發出警告信。 沈桂賢與水利灌溉局官員突擊檢查石角路，第三項溝渠提升工程，並對承包商的表現感到極度不滿。沈桂賢日前巡視該工程時，對這種情況感到憤怒，並當場指責承包商。 “如果工程無法在近期施工和完成，我們將更換承包商，不會給你機會，過去我們已經給了太多次。” 沈桂賢提醒所有承包商，若無法任期內完成工程，日後別想再獲得。
砂拉越独立展览独立购物广场举行

阿邦佐哈里：砂需要多4倍拨款落实发展
砂首席部长拿督巴丁宜阿邦佐哈里强调，砂政府至少需要联邦政府拨出多4倍的拨款，才能让砂拉越取得良好的基本建设。 他说，砂拉越目前所拥有的大量储备金大部分来自石油与天然气的收入。 “这也是为何中央政府下放石油与天然气权益予砂拉越对我们而言非常重要。” 阿邦佐哈里今日在砂拉越722集会庆典上致词时强调，砂政府不曾废除1958年石油开采法令，同时也不会因为1974年石油发展法令而废除。 他表示，砂议会从来没有要让1974年石油发展法令取代1958年石油开采法令，因为那是在马来西亚组成前制定的，主要是作为管制本州石油资源的法令。 根据1963年马来西亚协议，对砂拉越权利有影响的法律必须在砂州立法议会上通过才能起得法律效应。1958年石油开采法令赋予砂拉越全权的监管权，这包括个人、国油公司、在砂岸内和岸外施展石油与天然气活动的公司等。 与此同时，他认为社会各界尤其是土生土长的砂拉越人必须对这段历史有所了解。 他说，砂拉越不需要退出马来西亚，同时，砂拉越继续作为马来西亚的一份子也并非意味着无法索回在1963年马来西亚协议内所持有的自主权。他表示，通过砂拉越政党联盟的成立及享有政治独立后，砂政府会有更好、更强烈的平台来捍卫砂拉越权益。 他指出，在组成马来西亚后初期，马来西亚的确有兑现协议内的承诺，而砂拉越也为此感满意。尤其是在获得了马来亚及英联邦国家的帮助下，让砂拉越无论是在面临敌对邻国安全课题上或是内部的威胁都取得了联邦给予的保障。 另一方面，阿邦佐哈里表示，第十四届全国选举已经结束并已经由希盟执政中央。敦马哈迪再任我国首相后于上周首次到访古晋，砂政府也借此机会向其（马哈迪）汇报有关砂政府在未来的发展方向，同时也表态会给予联邦合作。 出席庆典者包括州元首敦泰益玛目、副首长拿督阿玛道格拉斯、拿督阿玛阿旺登雅及砂地方政府及房屋部长拿督沈桂贤。
