Road resurfacing, drainage repair projects for Batu Kawah constituency
A total of RM 8.8 million of Malaysian Roads Records Information System (Marris) Fund will be used for road resurfacing and drainage repair projects in Batu Kawa area.
Minister of Local Government and Housing Datuk Dr Sim Kui Hian said the funds approved for 2018 were in addition to the RM5 million for Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) projects.
He said RM 2.3 million will be used for 36 roads for resurfacing works involving a cost of about while 22 places identified for drainage maintenance projects costing RM6.5 million.
Some of the projects have already commenced by either the local council or the Public Works Department (JKR).
Dr. Sim assured that the projects will be done by stages with the worst areas to start first so to be more efficient instead of scattering around.
Last year Marris funds was worth over RM5.42 million were allocated for 53 projects implemented by the Padawan Municipal Council and 12 projects costing RM3 million by JKR.
He added that an update on drainage and river cleaning projects for the area would be released soon.
