Kota Sentosa Assemblyman hands over RTP project awards to improve drainage and public facilities

Sentosa State Assemblyman Wilfred Yap today handed over Letters of Award for two Rural Transformation Programme projects, reaffirming his commitment to addressing grassroots needs and improving community infrastructure.

The handover was carried out together with officers from Majlis Perbandaran Padawan.

The first project, under RTP 2025, involves upgrading drainage at parts of Jalan Semaba Phase 2. The contract was awarded to Bollzs Management Services, with a total cost of RM200,000. The project addresses long standing concerns from residents over poor drainage and frequent localized flooding in the area.

Meanwhile, under RTP 2024, Yap also handed over a Letter of Award to MF Jaya Bina Sdn Bhd for Phase 2 upgrading works at Kota Sentosa Town Square, Batu 7. The project carries an allocation of RM300,000, following the successful completion of Phase 1, which cost RM500,000.

The continuation of the project aims to enhance public facilities, improve accessibility, and create a more vibrant and user friendly space for both residents and businesses.

Yap said the projects reflect his approach as a people focused representative who prioritises feedback from the ground and ensures timely implementation.

He stressed that the initiatives were based on direct input from the public and not decided without consultation, adding that his responsibility is to listen, act and deliver effectively.

He also highlighted the importance of close coordination with implementing agencies such as Majlis Perbandaran Padawan to ensure smooth execution and timely completion.

Yap added that the handover of the Letters of Award marks the beginning of project delivery, and he will continue to monitor progress closely to ensure quality outcomes for the people of Kota Sentosa.
