砂拉越人联党秘书长拿督陈超耀表示，农历新年是中国千年古文明的一种传成与继承，是中华名族最隆重与意义重大的一个节日，从古至今从未改变过，我们炎黄子孙都应该尊重这个节日。 他强调，回家过年吃团圆饭饭，看望父母，一家人团圆，是千古不变的民俗民风。 提及新的一年新的愿景，他希望大家能在新的一年里展现不一样的自己，努力实现设下的目标。我们无法预测今年会有怎样的事情发生，但是我们用于面对和接受挑战，让我们携手建立一个更美好的砂拉越。 “处于一个多元文化和种族的国家，特别是砂拉越州内的多元民族社群里，各族的年节活动，各族人民互相拜访，增进各民族间情谊，了解彼此文化的最好的时刻。处身在一个安稳和平的国家，国民都感到骄傲，且我们深信绝大部分的马来西亚国民都是享受珍惜这份得来不易的和谐。” 陳超耀表示，砂拉越的繁荣与进步是需要人民的支持和各族人民的和睦才能构建今天的和平稳定，因此，期许新的一年和未来的日子里砂拉越有更美好的明天。 他说，一个和谐的社会才能促进国家各个方面的发展。砂拉越一直都建立在和谐的基础上，才是各族人民和睦共处。人民互相扶持和尊重，包括一起共庆各种节日，尊敬彼此的宗教信仰等。 他相信，砂人民也为此而感到自豪和骄傲，因为这是独属砂拉越人的崇高文化和美德，是值得延续和维持的。 他指出，有句话说，“民生无小事，枝叶总关情”，要获得人民的信任和支持，砂拉越政府必须做得更好和最好。 陳超耀举例，包括从就业，教育，经济，民生问题，疗养，基本设施和社会保障等，都必须不断的作出改善和拟制新的方向配合人民的生活而作出调整，因为上述种种都是和人民的生活作作息甚至国家的发展息息相关。 他强调，砂拉越政府为了不断提升州内各个省份的经济，作出的许多努力吸引更多外来投资，并且各私人界携手合作重力关注砂拉越州的企业实际需求，从而刺激砂州的经济发展之际，也创造更多商机和就业机会。 他希望砂政府能继续带领砂人民走得更远，也呼吁砂人民给予砂政府更大得支持和信心。 另一方面，陳超耀表示，美里形容为一颗有待鉴赏和转研的明珠是不为过，因为她拥有绝佳的地理位置和天然资源。拥有37万人口的美里是砂拉越的第二大城市，更是全马拥有最多种族的地方，它体现了多元种族、宗教和谐的一面。 他相信许多美里市民都可以感受到和见证美里过去十年的发展。当然，目前现有的进步和发展是不足够的，提升和改善旅游设施、基本设施、地方美化、网络提升、医疗保障等和人民相关的问题都必须及时的跟进和检讨。 此外，也包括人民本身的素质、清洁卫生和安全意识、环保意识、商业道德和关怀社会等环节都必须提升和加强，唯有官民保持紧密的合作才能打造一个更美好的美里，然后在扩展到各个领域和全砂。 “没有经历风雨，怎么见彩虹”。言道一年之计在于春，一年的始末就从此刻开始，期许新的一年砂拉越人民安居乐业，社会昌盛，还给犀鸟之乡一片乐土，把希望寄予明天，把动力带在身上，让信任和相互谅解永远与砂拉越人民同在。祝砂拉越子民万事如意，新年进步！

许德婉：砂政府应使用移民自主权允许以色列运动员参赛

砂人联党青年团总团长程明智表示，首相敦马哈迪表明拒绝向以色列运动员发出签证，使他们无法参与在古晋举行的世界残疾人游泳锦标赛，等于让体育赛事染上政治色彩。 他强调，马来西亚是此项世界级赛事的东道主，在体育精神下，不能以政治或外交理由阻止以色列或任何国家运动员前来参赛。若按照马哈迪所说，马来西亚因为与以色列没有邦交，所以该国运动员不应前来马来西亚参赛，这是荒谬的理由。 他表示，拒绝以色列运动员前来马来西亚参赛，等于玷污奥林匹克促进有意、团结及公平竞争精神，因此马来西亚也不适合参加任何奥运会。 程明智发表文告指出，希盟政府领袖应挺身挑战马哈迪这项决定，因为这违背国人希望建立新马来西亚的意愿。 他说，2019年世界残疾人游泳锦标赛是砂拉越政府承办，砂拉越政府应使用1963年建国契约赋予砂拉越的移民自主权，允许以色列运动员直接飞抵砂拉越参赛。古晋是赛事的东道主，有权欢迎世界任何国家运动员前来参赛。 他认为，砂政府应在这课题上提出坚定立场，向联邦政府拒绝以色列运动员参赛的决定表达不同意见。砂拉越应该向全世界展示奥林匹克精神，超越政治的体育，秉持古晋为团结城市的风范，欢迎任何人前来。
陈超耀巡视小贩中心提升工程
砂人联党卑尔骚区州议员拿督陈超耀今早与美里市政局市议员及工程师巡视美里海滨小贩中心的提升工程。 该工程耗资60万令吉，从今日起动工，预计今年3月20日完成，为期4个月。工程目的是增加50个桌子，让小贩及民众享有更好的环境。 陈超耀感谢小贩与美里市政局合作，暂时从原地搬迁，直到提升工程完工后才回到原地继续营业。他也感谢美里市政局帮助小贩提升营业环境。
