SUPP Public Complaints Bureau (SPCB) statement
SUPP Public Complaints Bureau (SPCB) was recently approached by a group of residents of Kampung Stutong Baru (Melayu) which is located at the BDC Resettlement Scheme. Of particular concern to some of the residents was on their outstanding application for a Temporary Occupation Licence from Land & Survey Department.
One of the residents who spoke on behalf of the others requested the SPCB assistance on their problems concerning their application for a Temporary Occupation Licence (TOL) on the parcel of land (Lot) that they were currently residing. They have been staying on the land since 1986 after their house at Tabuan Sampah, Jalan Sungai Apong was destroyed by fire. They first applied for the TOL to their Lot in 1990 to Land & Survey Department but till to date they have not received any positive reply.
Upon checking with Land & Survey Department, Kuching Division, the officer informed that the TOL application concerned is awaiting the approval from the headquarters of Land & Survey Department.
Based on the feedback, SPCB has now highlighted the predicament faced by the residents to the Director of Land & Survey Department and requested for his assistance on the matter.
On another related matter, a resident from BDC Resettlement Scheme had also approached SPCB for assistance on the renewal of his TOL which expired in 2012. SPCB have since assisted the resident to renew his TOL until 2018.
