Lo Khere Chiang distributes UNIFOR grants
UNIFOR grants were distributed to 9 houses of worship and religious organisations in Batu Kitang.
The 9 houses of worship and religious organisations in the Batu Kitang state constituency have received grants totalling RM475,000.
Unifor is the brainchild of former chief minister the late Pehin Sri Adenan Satem. Sarawak is the best example for other states when it comes to inter-racial and inter-religious harmony. This harmony and religious freedom has been strongly endorsed by Sarawak leaders including our Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg.
Lo Khere Chiang who distribute the grant said in Sarawak, our community are lucky to have Unifor, we are unique given that Sarawak is the only state having such a unit. With Unifor, we get to enjoy peace and harmony in the state, and it would be further enhanced to allow unity in the foundation for continuous development.
He added that Sarawak had set up the Unit for Other Religions (Unifor) to assist religions other than Islam as Sarawak’s resources belonged to the people of all faiths. Unifor is looking after 16 different religious groups. Unifor is progressive and Sarawak is a model state for racial and religious harmony.
He said it is sarawak’s desire and commitment to racial and religious harmony will remain strong and steadfast. As Anak Sarawak, we are blessed and especially for Sarawak’s future generations to come.

The Immaculate Conception Kampung Sudat (RM50,000)
Sacret Heart Church, Kampung Semeba (RM50,000)
Gereja St John De Brebeuf, Kampung Tematu (RM50,000)
Gereja Injil Sepenuh Kota Sentosa (RM10,000)
St Maria Church Kampung Bumbok (RM100,000)
Gereja SDA Kampung Bumbok (RM50,000)
Gereja Seventh-Day Adventist Kampung Semeba (RM100,000)
Persatuan Penganut Agama Buddha Amitabha Ming De (RM45,000)
