Dr Sim hands over funding to temples and churches
Batu Kawah assemblyman Dato Sri Dr Sim Kui Hian hand over UNIFOR (Unit for Other Religions) funding to temples and churches today. The fund is meant for their development and activities purposes.
Lo San Miaw temple, Persatuan Penganut Agama Buddha Amitabha and Tian Sze Ja Batu Kawah are the beneficiary group.
During the handing over ceremony, Sim emphasize that UNIFOR’s fund for other religions shows that Sarawak government support and value other religions’ development in Sarawak. All religion in Sarawak has freedom to spread their religion values.
” UNIFOR was established during late Adenan tenure as chief minister, in order to assist and support other religions’ development here. Abang Johari, as the late Adenan’s successor, has continued this open minded policy and as much as Rm50 million has been disbursed under UNIFOR this year.” said Sim.
Dr Sim urges the beneficiary group to better utilise the funding received from UNIFOR, so that it will benefit all race here and creating a peaceful and harmony society here.
Those present at the ceremony includes Temenggong Tan Joo Phooi, political secretary for chief minister Tan Kai, SUPP Batu Kawah branch chairman Lim Ah Ted.
