Flash flood problem at Lorong Lapangan Terbang 4, Kuching

SUPP Public Complaints Bureau (SUPP PCB) Chief, Wilfred Yap together with other SUPP members recently had a meeting and discussion with Mr Chok Moi Soon, Director of Drainage & Irrigation Department at Wisma Saberkas on the flash flood problem at Lorong Lapangan Terbang 4, Kuching.

During the meeting, SUPP Public Complaints Bureau Chief, Wilfred Yap expressed and voiced the concerns and predicament of the residents and requested the Drainage & Irrigation Department to pay special attention to the flash flood problem at Lorong Lapangan Terbang 4, Kuching which is caused by the slow flow of rain water due to the overgrown weeds in the drains and impeded water flow in the culvert under Jalan Lapangan Terbang.

Under the circumstances and as an interim measure, SUPP Public Complaints Bureau Chief, Wilfred Yap speaking on behalf of the residents also appealed for Drainage & Irrigation Department’s consideration to urgently clear the weeds on the earth drain along Jalan Lapangan Terbang and clear the dirt in the culvert under Jalan Lapangan Terbang as a short term measure.
