OCPD Kuching: community to be eyes and ears of police
Kuching police chief ACP Abang Ahmad Abang Julai appealed to the community to be the eyes and ears of city police to combat crime.
With close co-operation, he said petty crime-prone areas such as Kenyalang Park could be turned into white areas (crime free).
The people of Kenyalang Park took the initiative to work with the police by providing reliable information so that the authorities could take immediate action.
He said these after visiting the Kenyalang Market Food Centre here with Local Government Minister Datuk Dr Sim Kui Hian last Sunday.
Meanwhile, Dr Sim said MBKS had enhanced CCTV surveillance at the Kenyalang Market Food Centre to improve security there.
According to him, there are 10 surveillance devices on the lower floor while six new ones have recently been installed on the upper floor, bringing the total there to seven.
He called upon the public to report to the authorities whenever they come across any suspicious characters.
