Kuching police chief ACP Abang Ahmad Abang Julai appealed to the community to be the eyes and ears of city police to combat crime. 肯雅兰市集增加电眼防罪案
肯雅兰菜市集毛贼频频出没的问题获得地方政府部与警方严正关注，砂地方政府部长拿督沈桂贤、古晋南市市长拿督曾长青与古晋警区主任阿邦阿末于日前齐齐走访该市集，展现与民众携手打击罪案的决心。 沈桂贤在活动上披露，古晋南市市政局于近期在肯雅兰菜市集楼上饮食中心增加6部闭路电视设施，让饮食中心的闭路电视增至7部，加上底楼10部，整个菜市集总共有17部闭路电视设施。 他希望，闭路电视可以起着阻遏罪犯干案的作用，降低该市集的罪案率。 他说，肯雅兰菜市集一路来都非常繁忙，这也迎来许多毛贼出没，偷窃小贩经营生意的用具。鉴于此，古晋警区主任与南市市长以实际行动，安装闭路电视设施，确保市集的情况在任何时段都获得监视。 “南市与警方联手配合让罪案率降低，希望可以为小贩提供良好的经营环境，消费者也可以安心前来光顾。” 沈桂贤表述，警方今早除了巡逻之外，也在市集内张贴警方热线号码，让民众掌握。 他强调，当面对问题时，与其伸出手指指责，不如做些实际行动来解决问题。 他说，实际行动需要时间进行，不过往往会有人趁机捞取功劳。 “试想，在过去10年里，这个地区都有人民代议士，为何却等到现在才安装闭路电视？而不是早在过去就安装？” 他呼吁民众与警方积极配合，提供罪案线索，借此减低罪案率。
罗克强参与健康检查活动
砂人联党巴都吉当区州议员兼巴达旺市议会主席罗克强于5月1日劳动节当天，参与煤炭路富莱银达园睦邻原则委员会举办的免费健康检查活动。 这项活动是在美华花园室内体育馆举行，现场除了有免费健康检查之外，还包括有健康讲座。 出席者包括人联党公共投诉局主任叶耀星。
