The truth about Teras and UPP
SUPP Central Publicity section wanted to make it clear to all members that Parti Tenaga Rakyat Sarawak (Teras) and the United People’s Party (UPP) are not Barisan Nasional (BN) component parties nor it is a BN Plus member.
In a statement issued yesterday by the Publicity section, the two new parties had not even applied to join the BN.
The statement said the 19 state seats that belonged to SUPP will not be compromised for any of the two parties which are considered as outsiders.
The statement hit out at Dato’ Sri Wong Soon Koh who wanted UPP to set up branches in SUPP areas, stating that if they are indeed BN friendly as they claimed to be, they should not be trying to fight SUPP, a component party of BN.
Members of these two parties lied when they insisted they are BN component parties.
Saying one thing and doing another is a lie and to start off a party like that, will not go very far, added the statement.
The publicity section urged members to stay united and continue to service the people and not to listen to rumours spread by unscrupulous people.
