Deputy Premier, Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian sends Chinese new year cards
As the Year of the Snake approaches, Sarawak Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Dr. Sim Kui Hian has continued his cherished tradition of signing and sending 5,000 personalized Chinese New Year (CNY) greeting cards.
This heartfelt practice, inherited from his late father, Tan Sri Datuk Amar Sim Kheng Hong, underscores his dedication to family, culture, and enduring values.
In today’s digital age, Dr. Sim stands firm in the belief that physical greeting cards carry a deeper, more personal significance,a symbol of respect and connection.
He signs these cards during his free moments even while traveling between engagements, to ensure they reach recipients in time for Chinese New Year.
Additionally, he has extended an open invitation on social media, encouraging friends to request a card if they wish to receive one. While he embraces digital greetings for some, he emphasizes the irreplaceable charm of traditional cards.
