Sharing the joy of Ramadan with Muslim friends
Padawan Municiple Council, Lo Khere Chiang, who is also SUPP Mile 3 sub branch chairman, did his bit to share the joy of Ramadan in a buka puasa session with the less fortunate at a petrol station.
The station was celebrating its 1st anniversary and Lo, who was the guest of honour, gave away goody bags to those present. Earlier on, toys were also distributed to the children.
Lo, in pointing out the significance of cross-culture sharing, affirmed that Sarawak is the best example in term of harmony among the various races, culture and religion here. He said in any festival, he noted that all the races come together to share the joy and happiness of the occasion. As an example, the month of Ramadan is not only observed by the Muslims, but is also shared by other ethnic groups, particularly seen in the presence of those at the Bazaar Ramadan and the sharing of meals during both the buka puasa and sahur.
