Batu Kawa clinic offers Community physiotherapy and Occupational therapy
There is a mixed emotions of happiness and relief as we celebrate the completion of this much-needed RM700,000 community physiotherapy and occupational therapy unit in KK Batu Kawa, said Deputy Premier, Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian.
This project, he said was proposed before 2018 and faced numerous challenges including funding allocation, withholding, re-allocation, and increased construction costs post-COVID.
Despite these setbacks, the project persevered and has finally been completed.
Dr Sim added that Physiotherapy is a vital component of medical services, encompassing therapeutic, curative, rehabilitative, and preventive care.
In Malaysia, physiotherapy is typically hospital-based, but KK Batu Kawa has been offering community-based physiotherapy since 2014.
Due to the increasing residential housing in Batu Kawa, the existing facilities and space became severely limited, impacting the ability to meet the growing demand thus the need to expand it.
