Deputy Premier, Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian giving face masks to needy students
Deputy Premier, Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian has been giving funding to all Batu Kawa school, both Primary and Secondary for the last two days for the beginning of the year.
Dr Sim who is also State Assemblyman for Batu Kawa said since elected in 2016, he knows the financial challenges of schools at every beginning of the year.
He said without being asked, he felt it is part of his routine to personally go around all the schools in his area not just to give the financial grants but also to find the schools problems facing lack of fundings, facilities and manpower.
These are some of the issues faced by local schools from Federal Ministry of Education.
Dr Sim hoped that there will be smooth progress of Sarawak Education Autonomy from Federal Government under Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63) so that all these challenges will be resolved locally.
As Sarawak is facing a surge of COVID19, Dr. Sim also donated face mask to students in need.
