Dr. Sim Kui Hian witnessing the handover of the project letter from MPP to the contractor
Deputy Premier, Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian witnesses the handing of a new access road from the junction of Jalan Tan Meng Chong to Jalan Ensing Timur.
Witnessing the handing over of the RM 2.02 million project, Dr Sim said the project is aim to provide alternate route to control traffic jams in Batu Kawa.
The 285-meter long road will start mid January and expected to be completed by September 15.
Dr Sim who is also Batu Kawa State Assemblyman said the area is undergoing rapid development and increasing population thus an access road is necessary.
He believed that the road access will ease traffic flow and congestion in Stapok area. The road can be connected from the Stapok Utama traffic light (near the Chinese Primary School 6 in Kuching) to the opposite Ensin residential area (Stapok Badminton Court).
He said this access road was delayed due to the SPA land acquisition process to accommodate road expansion up to four lanes.
Once the project is completed, people in this residential area will be able to enjoy better convenient access to connecting roads this is one of the development plans of the Sarawak government.
