Sarawak Veterinary Services Department (DVS) intensify anti – rabies vaccination
Sarawak Veterinary Service department (DVS) and Sarawak Security and Enforcement have intensified the anti-rabies vaccination programme.
Deputy Premier, Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian said dog owners can get their pets vaccinated at any government veterinary clinic during office hours and mass vaccination programmes would also be carried out from time to time, adding that the public can get the details of these programmes from the Sarawak DVS Facebook page.
Kuching and Bintulu were declared rabies infection area.
Owners who failed to vaccinate their dogs against rabies can be fined RM 2,500 and dogs exposed to rabies with no proof of vaccination can be put down.
Dr Sim added that dog owners can get their pets vaccinated at any government veterinary clinic.
