State Assemblyman for Batu Kitang, Dato IR Lo Khere Chiang urged contractors to perform their jobs well in projects for Kampungs under Batu Kitang constituency.

Lo said by doing so, the people can benefit while contractors will be trusted to have future projects to do. He said there was a few contractors blacklisted before for not doing the required job scope of the contracted projects. “Let us do this well for our own Sarawak nation building,” he added.

Lo said this while witnessing the handing over of the open concept Dewan at Kampung Bumbok from contractor to JKR and JKR to the community leader yesterday.

The RM 250,000 to build the dewan was under Rural Transformation programme (RTP) which started in September and completed in January 2023.

For an additional RM 150,000, Lo admitted that not much can be done with it but he came up with an idea to have the Kampung do a ‘gotong royong’ to use the money for earth filling for the Dewan compound. He said this concept will help the Kampung more and also to cut cost and maximise the full use of the fund.
