Datuk Sebastian Ting donates to repair Miri IPD
Sarawak Deputy Minister of Tourism Datuk Tan Chiu Yao has allocated RM150,000 to Miri Police to help repair the basic facilities of the Miri Central Police Station that are in urgent need of maintenance.
Accompanied by officials from the Miri Public Works Department, Ting inspected the buildings of the Miri Central Police Station and was warmly welcomed by Miri Central Police Chief and others and had an in-depth discussion.
Ting said that he allocated RM150,000 after receiving approval through the Rural Transformation Program 2023 allocation. Tendering is currently underway and once completed, work can begin and repairs will be carried out on urgently needed priority works, he added.
After discussion with police and the Engineering Department, he said that the projects that is urgently needed to repair is the detention room which required lighting, iron gate locks, detention room toilets, floor repairs, police station toilets, etc.
He stressed the importance of these projects and said they would be prioritized.
