Datuk Sebastian Ting launches ‘Aisyah Beats cancer’ Balloon Maze 2023

The Sarawak Children’s Cancer Society (SCCS) launched its ‘Aisyah Beats Cancer’ Balloon Maze 2023 at Permaisuri Imperial City Mall on Saturday officiated by Deputy Minister for Tourism, Creative Industry, and Performing Arts, Datuk Sebastian Ting Chiew Yew.

Ting is the sponsor of the three-day event starting from September 22 to 24.

SCCS President Rodney Wong stressed the importance of awareness and support group and to educate the public about the different aspects of childhood cancer.

He believed with greater awareness, it will lead to a more informed and compassionate society getting more involved in local advocacy efforts.

The Balloon Maze series began in 2018 with ‘Ali Beats Cancer’ in Kuching and continued with ‘Anna Beats Cancer’ in 2019. This year, 2023 maze in Miri was inspired by Aisyah Adlina, a young cancer survivor from Belawai who was diagnosed with bone cancer at the age of nine.

Aisyah aged 14 accompanied by her mother faced many hardships and overcame cancer with courage, resilience, and hope.

Entry to the ‘Aisyah Beats Cancer’ Balloon Maze is free at Permaisuri Imperial City Mall from 10 am to 10 pm. For more information, interested person can visit www.sccs.org.my.
