SUPP Serian Branch Deny Senior William Rade As Deputy Youth Chief

The present SUPP Serian branch committee members urged ex committee members to stop coming out with confusing statement opposing the committee’s stand on the present internal conflict within the party.

In a statement issued by the SUPP committee members, they said they wanted to rebutt the statement made by ex Deputy Youth Chief, Senior William Rade on December 15 in a local paper. William Rade was a former deputy youth chief some 20 years ago whereas Mathew Kong was the SUPP Serian Youth 15 years ago. Both are no longer in the committee list.

A few personalities who were with Senior William Rade in the article were not even SUPP members. We are aware of their activities and intentions even way back before the last GE 13. We know their strength and influence. They are trying to fish in muddy waters. They are trying to be relevant through the current SUPP crisis.

The statement added that SUPP being a Democratic Party, cannot stop its members from giving comments and even disagreeable opinions, but claiming to represent the present SUPP Serian Branch when they are not, is totally unacceptable and uncalled for.

We suggest that they stop and cease to make those irresponsible statements with immediate effect. On the other hand SUPP Serian Branch hopes that the party will not be deregistered. A big number of the party members are third generation members. It would be one of the saddest event in our life if the party is deregistered. Members need to be reminded of the history of the formation of SUPP.

We pray and hope our leaders can sit down and work together to save the party from reregistration. The party means a lot to us. It is never too late to reconcile. We are indeed honoured and happy that our current Branch Chief, YB Dato’ Sri Richard Riot Jaem was appointed Minister of Human Resources Malaysia by YAB Dato’ Seri Najib Tun Razak. We are indeed very thankful to the Prime Minister of Malaysia and Chief Minister of Sarawak for appointing him as a full minister.
