Working out solution for flooding areas in Miri, says Sebastian Ting
Piasau State Assemblyman, Datuk Sebastian Ting said he has another meeting with Drainage Irrigation department (DID) , Road Transport Department(JKR), Miri City Council (MCC) and Petronas to discuss on the short term and long term solution on the flooding areas in Lutong. (Kpg Senadin Jaya, Kpg Merikan, Kpg Damai Jaya).
He thanked all agencies for all their contributions of ideas and assistance on the proposed plans.
DID, he said proposed to construct a collector drain and a pump house near to the river while MCC will help to look into the road upgrading work on the main road.
JKR will assist to do an estimation on the cross over culvert from Kpg Damai Jaya link to the opposite site main drainage.
Ting said Petronas will look into the nature river in MCOT and cooperate with DID on maintaining the river.
He hoped that after all these actions taken will minimise the flooding situation in Miri.
