KUCHING: SUPP Kota Sentosa Branch Chairman, Wilfred Yap, with community leaders and SUPP 7th Mile Sub-Branch members met up with the hawkers and petty traders at Kota Sentosa Market to listen to their predicament and to record their particulars for purposes of checking with the relevant authorities on the disbursement date of the Sarawak GPS Government financial assistance.
The hawkers and petty traders wondered when the Sarawakku Sayang Special Assistance Package announced by Chief Minister YAB Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg and on when the financial assistance amounting to RM2,250 will be disbursed to them.
They claimed Covid-19 pandemic had badly affected their livelihood and appealed for a speedy disbursement of the special financial aid of RM2,250.00 as it would greatly help in easing their financial burden.
At the same time, the hawkers and petty traders also expressed their thanks and gratitude to the Sarawak GPS Government under the able and progressive leadership of Chief Minister YAB Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg for the caring and proactive measure of the financial assistance of RM2,250.00 which goes a long way towards reducing the negative impact on their livelihood due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Yap also hoped that the Federal PN and Sarawak GPS Government would continuously evaluate, prioritize and enhance their policies to cushion the economic slowdown due to Covid-19 and to speed up the economic recovery process by improving access to livelihoods or employment opportunities to Sarawakians.
