Michael Tiang blasted Chong Chieng Jen
SUPP Youth Central Chief, Michael Tiang blasted DAP Sarawak Chairman Chong Chieng Jen’s earlier statement accusing GPS of playing two-faced politics.
Tiang accused DAP Sarawak of being a political party that lied to Sarawakians for the past 42 years!
He said before DAP Sarawak could accuse GPS of working along side with Perikatan Nasional which includes PAS, he reminded Chong and his colleagues from DAP Sarawak that it was DAP Sarawak that first brought PAS into Sarawak’s political landscape in 2001 when they were together under the same political coalition called Barisan Alternatif.
And, he added this was not the only time DAP Sarawak “opened up” the gate to let PAS into Sarawak, they went into further cooperation when DAP formed Pakatan Rakyat with PAS again in 2008! Since then DAP brought in more Malayan parties like PKR, Parti Amanah and later BERSATU into Sarawak that aimed to disrupt Sarawak politics which was only meant for Sarawak local parties since the formation of Malaysia!
Therefore it is a political hypocrisy to its top form when Chong accusing GPS of partnering with PN to form the present government in order to stabilise the nation as well as to lead the nation in fighting the covid-19 pandemic, said Tiang.
Making empty promises, he added has also become habitual to DAP Sarawak that they had no hesitation in lying about giving Sarawak 20% oil royalty, RM2000 cash subsidies and 50% of taxes collected from Sarawak to be returned to Sarawak during the last GE14. With the people’s mandate, what had they done for Sarawak in their 22-month of ruling as the new federal government? They collapsed the government by themselves without making any contributions to our State’s wellbeing and development! Sarawakians should not therefore let DAP get away from their lies but to hold DAP accountable for the lies!
During the fight against this covid-19 pandemic, Tiang said DAP Sarawak was not only busy in creating lies and misinformation about Sarawak Government’s efforts in giving out food aid to the needy, currently Chong even complained about SDMC’s requirement on Sarawakians returning to Sarawak from Semenanjung must first obtain a police permit.
“I would like to remind Chong that he shouldn’t forget that there were 2 DAP MPs from Sarawak who contacted the virus in last March while traveling back from Semenanjung. Shouldn’t he have learned the lesson that anyone including Sarawakians who travel from Semenanjung back to Sarawak are exposing themselves to the great risks of being infected with the virus? During the fight against the pandemic, shouldn’t it be right to say that the safety of 3 millions Sarawakians in Sarawak outweighs any individual’s rights and convenience to enter Sarawak? Is DAP Sarawak suggesting that Sarawak should now relax all the entry restrictions while we are cautiously preparing ourselves to fight the 2nd wave of this pandemic?” he said.
