SUPP Batu Kawa service centre distributed food stuff to the Malays and Dayak communities in conjunction with the Hari Raya and Gawai festivals to help the less fortunate
Batu Kawa State Assemblyman, Dato’ Seri Dr. Sim Kui Hian said food stuff included rice, flour, noodles, sugar and cooking oil which were donated by generous public during the MCO.
He said the recipients were from the lower income group who were vetted by the branch.
According to him, it was a tradition for the branch to distribute food stuff annually to the lower income group before the festivals. This year, he said due to the lockdown, they have engaged churches and mosques management to help hand over the food to the respective families.
