Enough daily supplies in Miri, says Sebastian Ting
Assistant Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture Datuk Sebastian Ting who went round the city to check on supermarkets calls to the public to refrain from panic buying as there is enough food for everyone.
He said essential items like instant noodles, eggs, fruits and canned food are available at all supermarkets where he visited at Servay Hypermarket, Boulevard Hypermarket (Jalan Pujut) and Everwin (Krokop 10) and Ah Hong Grocery in Luak.
Ting said the public should not hoard the essential goods as it will create a chaotic environment and people will panic.
Asking the Miriams to remain calm, he said the long queues on the road was due to the checking at road blocks and not people coming out to buy and hoard food.
Urging all those not to come out unnecessary, Ting said this is the time where everyone should listen to the government directives to break the spread of covic-19 as it is highly contagious and dangerous. He said as long as everyone play their part, they can beat the disease.
