Milton Foo visits Klinik Kesihatan Tanah Puteh

Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP) Youth Secretary-General Milton Foo visited Klinik Kesihatan Tanah Puteh today to find out the progress of the repair & upgrading works by the federal agency.

Member of Parliament for Bandar Kuching Kelvin Yii and Pending State Assembly woman Violet Yong had paid a visit to the said clinic sometime in May about two months ago.

Yii and Yong, both from DAP Sarawak, during their visit to the said clinic said that they had instructed SDO to repair the faulty airconds the soonest possible as well as adding more air-conditioners at the patient waiting lobby. They also promised to upgrade some facilities including the building of an awning at the main entrance and making new drain covers for public safety purpose.

According to the officers in charge, no action has been taken so far by the relevant authority but they still keep in touch with the personal assistant of Kelvin Yii who had promised them that Kelvin will do the necessary to get the best for the said clinic.

Milton Foo expressed his gratitude towards Yii’s concerns for the clinic which is situated at the Pending constituency & is willing to offer his help through his allocation of federal grants as a MP. However, Kelvin is also urged to solve the issues as promised & to deliver what he has committed for the best benefit & interest of the general public.

Meanwhile, it was also told that other than the need for the above repairs (air conditioners) and upgrading (awning and drain covers), the clinic is also in dire need of additional storerooms for storing some medical equipments such as wheelchairs & etc.

It must be stressed by Milton Foo that it is the duty of the government of the day to provide medical services to the people. Moreover, Malaysia with a score of 95 out of 100, was ranked first in the Best Healthcare in the World category of the 2019 International Living Annual Global Retirement Index.

According to the International Living website, among top six countries that obtained the best ratings in the category of Best Healthcare in the World for this year, Malaysia ranked first with its world-class healthcare services and sophisticated infrastructure.

“Unfortunately, I still see shortchanged at most of the hospitals or government clinics in Sarawak in terms of medical equipments or advancement which are still far behind in comparison with the Malaya counterpart. Although Sarawak has contributed so much with billions of wealth to the federal government every year, it seems that Sarawak has not been treated as equally & fairly as what we deserve in tandem with what we have contributed over the years.”
