Cleaning up gotong royong project

There was a hive of activities at Kampung Senadin Jaya, Lutong in Miri this morning as Piasau State Assemblyman, Dato’ Sebastian Ting and a team of Health Ministry officials, turned up to help in the gotong royong of the kampung.

Launching the ‘gotong royong’, Ting who joined in the cleaning of the kampung, said he was happy to see such a crowd coming in to do their part for their own kampung at such an early time despite it being a Saturday. He said it was good that there is a sense of comradeship among the kampung people to be concerned about each other.

He thanked the Health Ministry team, who also gave a talk on the prevention of diseases and gave advice on how to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

He also thanked the Temenggong and community leaders for being present to be with the people.

Ting then joined the kampung people in the cleaning up. He urged them to maintain cleaningness not only in their own residential area but also outside their houses. He added that by doing so, they can prevent a lot of diseases like dengue fever and keeping rodents at bay, as health is important to our daily lives.
