SUPP youth on CM

Sarawak united People Party Youth Chairman, Tan Kai said Pehin Sri Taib Mahmud created his own image as a strong politician and protect the interest of Sarawakians and the 18 points privilege in the Constitution. “He has done very well here and has earned the respect of many in his staunch principles,” he added.
Tan Kai said Taib has also sustained Sarawak ensuring that all people from different races and religion can live together in harmony.
The in coming Chief Minister, Tan Sri Adenan Satem appeared to a man of integrity and stick to his own good principles. He is also well respected in both the Federal and State level leaders and I fully believed that he will deal with the SUPP internal problem in a diplomatic way.

SUPP youth secretary general Wilfred Yap said
“If there is anything that Taib Mahmud should be remembered for, it would be that he has governed Sarawak with non-race driven policies, maintain religious freedom, maintain racial harmony and provided economic opportunities to the different races within the context of social justice. The many Chinese controlled multi national companies are proof to this”
There is no Malay or Islam supremacy discourse in Sarawak. After the court passed down a verdict on the use of the word ALLAH, he immediately issued a statement that the verdict is not binding in Sarawak.
Government assistance for the underprivileged is also handed out in a relatively fair manner, regardless of race. What I am trying to say is that Sarawak have been an invisible fortress (from the economy to immigration) for the past 33 years under him keeping it safe from West Malaysian politics. As for the new CM, he has already pledged that he will be a CM for all and will carry on the time tested policies of Taib. I believe the new CM will do a good job in view of his vast experience both at the Federal and State level.
The unfortunate part of the whole episode is that it is the Chinese community who have opened the door for west Malaysian race-based politics to infiltrate Sarawak. I hope the Chinese in Sarawak realised this before it is too late.
