人联党西连支部对于西连县议员名单深感失望和不满
砂拉越人民联合党西连支部于去年提呈于党中央及有关当局的名单，在有关委任却在没有根据国阵精神与协商之下，被有关方面的所作所为而深感不满。 砂拉越人民联合党于1970年参组砂州联合政府时，已达致协议，所有重大的决定，必须经过所有成员党的协商和同意之下方可执行。这就是之后所谓国阵精神。 在以往惯例，所有市议员及社区领袖的委任均由各成员党所推荐给有关部门，而后由相关部门做出委任，可是感到遗憾的是，此次人联党西连支部推荐的县议员人选却被有关当局腰斩高达60巴仙。 砂拉越人民联合党西连支部在此强调，任何人不管官位有多高都要遵守党的决定。 人联党西连支部认同与支持党中央妇女组主席郑丽萍同志的论点“尊党为大是党员的本性”，党的各级领导包括代议士、官方机构以及社区领袖都必须通过党的推荐，才能加以委任，而不是通过任何其他的管道，党永远是大过任何党员，不管他的官位有多高。 人联党西连支部吁请爱党的同志们，保持冷静，继续秉持为民服务，坚持立场而奋斗！
